Amazing Gift Ideas for Busy Moms and Other Adults

busy mom, dad and toddler outside for fall family photos for big brother pregnancy announcement

Why is it so hard to come up with good gift ideas for the busy women in our lives, like our moms, wives, and mother-in-laws?! As a busy, often overwhelmed, mom myself, I’ve put a lot of thought into gifts I would personally appreciate and really love to receive.

Anything that cuts down on time, helps organize an area of life or reminds us to slow down and take care of ourselves are always a great idea.

A Cute, Functional Planner

Target usually has so many good options of different types of planners that are actually cute. There are great ones for students, but they also have so many great ones for busy moms.

You can keep track of your daily, weekly and monthly schedules and goals. There are also pages for budgets, and other useful extras.

Home Services

So many people offer amazing services to make our lives easier. You could gift someone a deep clean with a house cleaner, a car detail, a session with a home organizer or more. Some other options are a carpet cleaning, snow plowing service, a home chef for a week, or a meal delivery service.

Any of these gift ideas would save them so much time and money, take something off their to-do list and wouldn’t add clutter to their lives.

Quick Hydration

When I’m busy, one of the first things I forget is to eat enough and drink enough water until it’s too late and I have a headache. LiquidIV hydrating drink packets have been game-changing for me. They give me such a hydration boost and so many good vitamins that I need. Plus, the flavors are SO good.

You can buy LiquidIV for 30% off through this link, or simply adding the code MEGAN.FOLSOM to your cart at checkout. My favorite flavors that I would definitely recommend trying are Guava, Passion Fruit and Acai Berry.

It would be cute to gift some flavors in a bundle with a fun water bottle that keeps their drink cold longer and looks cute at the same time. Here are some of my personal favorites:

Lifesaving Key Accessories

For someone who is always on the go, or constantly has their hands full, these are both such practical gifts.

With the wristlet, they’ll be able to keep track of their keys on their wrist. They won’t have to worry about dropping them or not being able to find them to unlock their doors when their hands are full.

The tile is so helpful to be able to find your phone, keys and anything else that you might have trouble keeping track of. When you have so many things to remember on your way out the door, it’s easy to lose the most important ones.

Month Book Subscription

Scrapbooking or figuring out how to print and keep photo memories was one of my biggest stressors for a long time. It seemed like such an overwhelming, time-consuming task until I found Chatbooks.

Gone are the days of spending hours cutting, pasting, gluing and decorating elaborate scrapbook pages, unless that’s a true hobby of yours. Most people are printing their Instagram feeds and family pictures into cute matching books for our bookshelves.

One of the reasons I love Chatbooks so much is because they offer an annual subscription for a monthly book at a very affordable price (especially if you add my discount code). It’s not too overwhelming to sit down and pick 30 pages each month and send them to print.

It’s quick, easy and painless, plus there are SO many aesthetically-pleasing colors and patterns for the spines and covers. During the holiday season, my discount code MEGANFOLSOM20 for 20% off anything on their website (excluding gift cards).

If you don’t want to gift an annual subscription for month books, you could have all of their pictures from their most recent family photos into a book for them. You could also print a year in review with any pictures you have of the family, etc.

A New, Cute Bag

This is the perfect gift for the girl who is always on the go! Everyone loves a cute bag, and when you’re always running places, you need something to hold all of your stuff.

Here are a few good options at different price points that are available this year:

Babysitter

There are a few different ways to offer babysitting for someone. If you live close by and would enjoy the time with the kids, you could offer to be the babysitter yourself.

If you don’t live nearby or just have no desire to be in charge of someone else’s kids, you could offer to pay a babysitter for them.

A great gift would be paying or committing to being a babysitter once a month or once a week for a set amount of time. ANY parent would appreciate this to be able to have a consistent date night. However, it would also be really helpful to offer to a busy mom, so that she can have some time to herself during the day.

Amazon Alexa

Most people have an Alexa in their homes by now, but not all. There are benefits to having ones from screens or having ones available on different floors or rooms of their home.

Amazon Alexa saves us time as a family and is definitely a nice luxury to have. We use her to set timers, play music, ask questions while cooking or getting ready and more.

Some are just speakers, while some come with screens that are great for the kitchen or a desk. You can use the screen to pull up recipes while cooking or watch a show or tutorial while cleaning, etc.

A Year of Walmart+

Walmart+ is a GREAT gift for busy people and families. With a Walmart Plus membership, you are gifting someone with free grocery delivery for a year for only $98!!!

You’ll want to sign up for the membership using their email address. If you signup through this referral link, they will also get $15 off of their first grocery order. (In other words, they’ll also get $15 of free groceries!)

Porch Camera and Doorbell

There are so many benefits to having a doorbell with a camera these days. For safety reasons, it’s always a great idea to know who is on your doorstep and receive alerts, especially when you aren’t home.

You’re able to talk to people on the doorstep and let them know that you aren’t home or are almost home before they leave. You can set off warning alarms if you see an intruder on the camera and have recordings to show police.

Plus, the Ring comes with an app so that you can post things to your neighborhood and keep up with other happenings in your area. We have seen warnings of coyotes, fires, porch thieves and more on our Neighborhood app.

Airpods

Airpods are definitely a convenience and are great when you’re busy and on-the-go a lot. You can take calls while you’re running errands with them. While you’re working out or running errands, you can be listening to podcasts or music.

They make it much easier to multitask and get productive things done while doing mindless tasks. You don’t have to worry about all the cords or always holding a phone up to your ear with these.

Kitchen Luxuries

Modern technology has definitely made things like cooking so much more convenient and less time-consuming. When you have a busy life, coming up with dinner is often one of the most stressful parts of the day, especially when you don’t have much time.

Gifting an air fryer, instant pot or crockpot to a busy mom would be SO helpful and help add some more variety to their menu options. I just found the cutest white crockpot (linked below) that’s new this year, which would be perfect for someone with a cute kitchen in need of a replacement crockpot.

Charging Station

Helping them organize their physical surroundings, especially one they’re in so often, will be a big relief. Most people don’t know what they’re missing out on until they try one.

Using a charging station where your phone, airpods and watch can all be charged together, cuts down on cords and clutter. There are also lots of cute options that just help with the aesthetic of their room.

A Massage or Spa Service

There’s nothing better to get you to slow down and relax than a luxurious appointment. You can gift a massage, a facial, a manicure, a pedicure or any spa service. Most women would LOVE to receive any of these as a gift that they may not otherwise splurge on for themselves.

Collapsable Bins

Collapsable bins are so helpful for so many different things. They’re great to keep in the back of the car to carry groceries or other odds and ends in more easily. Plus, they fold down to fit in small spaces and take up less room.

You can also use them around the house, to carry things into the rooms they belong, carry them to different floors, etc. The straps make them easier to carry on your shoulder. Plus, you can carry a lot more at one time than in your arms or a regular laundry basket that digs into your hands.
