How to Feel More Put Together for Weeks and Get Killer Eyebrows in Under 10 Minutes
On October 16, 2020 by Megan FolsomOne of the best ways to get your confidence back and feel more put together is to spend a little bit of time on your appearance! A couple weeks before I had Trussler, I decided I wanted to get my eyebrows waxed and tinted so that I’d feel a bit more like myself after he was born. I paid $55 plus a tip and I liked the result! But, then I calculated that if I went once a month to have them done again, I’d be paying $660 plus tips, the cost of a babysitter and gas per year.
Right around the same time, I saw several people posting about this amazing tint kit they bought online for $20! I HAD to try it to see if it was worth the hype and it totally was. I’ve been using the same kit for over a year. It was easy to learn, I haven’t had to deal with the hassle of a babysitter and I have saved so much time and money. Plus, I love that I can control how dark they get, I don’t have to spend five minutes on my brows every morning and I can touch them up whenever I need.
How It Works
- Before you start with the tint, you’ll probably want to trim your brows up a bit and tweeze the random outliers. I bought this brow trimming kit for $6 and it’s been perfect for me. These are the best tweezers we have ever found!
- Next, you’ll need to mix your tint up. Gently twist the capsule with the powder open and dump some into the little black mixing cup. (I’ve found that using only half of the powder in the capsule is more than enough, and then you can put the lid back on the capsule and use the rest later.)
- Add an equal amount of the developer to your powder and stir them together with the little brush.
- As carefully as possible, apply the tint to your eyebrows using the brush. Don’t be afraid to lay it on thick and make sure that all of the hairs are coated.
- Check the little instruction sheet for the chart on how long to leave it on, depending on how dark you want them. I generally leave the tint on for about 3 minutes, because I like mine dark. I’d recommend starting with a shorter amount of time initially, because you can always make them darker later.
- Wipe off the tint thoroughly. I generally use these makeup wipes or a baby wipe, but you could also use a washcloth that you don’t mind staining.
- Your eyebrows will continue to darken over the next few hours, and any tint on your skin will face over the next couple of days.
If you feel that you need to fill them in as the dye starts to fade and you don’t have time to tint them again yet, this is my favorite drugstore brow pencil. It has raving reviews! Also, if you have are a brunette and need a darker shade, you can use this dark brown tint kit instead.
