Fun Date Ideas for the Summer Season:

1. Brunch

Go grab breakfast or brunch together one morning. You can sit on an outdoor patio if possible to enjoy the nice summer morning weather.

2. Farmer’s Market

Wander the farmer’s market together and enjoy some fresh food while you’re there. Check out local artist and company booths to support small businesses. Enjoy the nice weather and pick up some fresh flowers or produce to bring home.

You can usually find all of the local farmer’s market schedules with a simple Google search or looking at nearby events on Facebook. If not, search the posts or ask in a local Facebook group. Usually, there are weekend markets and weekday evening markets, so you can find what works best with your schedule.

3. Geocaching

Hop in your car, grab your phones and head out on a fun geocaching adventure together!

Not sure what geocaching is? According to the official geocaching website, it’s “the world’s largest treasure hunting game. Over 3 million cleverly hidden containers called geocaches are hidden all over the world just waiting to be found.”

4. Dessert Under the Sunset

Pick up a yummy treat, grab a few blankets and drive out to a big field or a mountain look-out spot. Turn on some music in the background, cuddle up, enjoy your dessert and chat while you watch the sun set.

5. Sunrise Hike

Prep all of your backpack, snacks and water the day before. Then, wake up super early for a cool sunrise hike. I’ve heard they are some of the most amazing hikes, but you’ll probably want to bring some warmer clothes with you!

You can usually find more info online about what time you should plan to start to make it up to the top by sunrise. Plus, figure out how long you’ll be hiking and how many meals to pack for.

6. Sidewalk Chalk Murals

Grab some chalk and get a little creative in your driveway together! You could find some ideas on Pinterest to copy or just free-hand it. Don’t forget to take pictures of your creations.

You could even turn this into a fun group date competition and have each couple make their own chalk mural in a certain amount of time.

7. Create a Recipe

Create a new recipe together using in season, fresh fruits and veggies (bonus if they are from your garden!). Make sure to keep notes and write it down do you can make it a summer tradition!

If you’re not feeling creative, find a good one on Pinterest BEFORE your date starts to avoid wasting time or getting frustrated.

8. Outdoor Yoga Class

Sign up for an outdoor yoga class at a park and do some yoga together in the morning. Relax, get into a calm mindset together and then grab some breakfast while you chat about your life plans, goals and desires.

9. Hot Air Balloon

Get up early one morning and go on a fun hot air balloon ride before it’s too hot. If you time it right, you could be up there right in time for the sunrise, which sounds SO incredible!

10. Skydive or Parasail

Pick something adventurous to try out together, like skydiving or parasailing! There’s nothing like trying something scary to get that adrenaline pumping and bring some excitement into your relationship. You’ll be talking about it and looking at the pictures for years!

11. Stargazing

Lay out some blankets in a field, on a trampoline or in the bed of a truck. You could add some quiet, romantic music or some fun music, depending on the mood you’re going for. Don’t forget the snacks and sweatshirts!

12. Backyard Camping

If you can’t find a babysitter or have a tight budget, grab your tent and camp in your backyard! Make s’mores after the kids have gone to bed and enjoy them on some camp chairs out back.

Lay under the stars while you chat about life and then cuddle up in your sleeping bags in the tent! (I would definitely either have security cameras or baby monitors on in the house, if your kids are young!)
