Where Can I Easily Sell My Used Baby and Kids’ Clothes?

a mom preparing used baby and kids clothes to sell online

After my Instagram stories a few weeks ago, I have gotten several questions about how to sell baby clothes for money.

Sometimes we buy too many clothes for our kids and feel overwhelmed by the clutter. Other times, we might be short on cash and looking to sell used kids’ clothes quickly. Or maybe, you know you aren’t having any more kids, so there’s no reason to hang on to their hand-me-downs!

Over the past couple of years as a mom, I have found several ways and places to successfully sell old baby clothes online. (Oh, and you can re-sell brand new baby clothes they never got around to wearing for even more money!)

There are PLENTY of moms who love shopping second-hand kids clothing and appreciate the cheaper prices for clothes in good condition.

A couple of the apps I use to sell kids’ clothing actually offer referral codes that give you a reward for joining (and me a small reward for referring), so I will include my referral links below!

Where To Sell Used Children’s Clothing

Kidizen

This app is perfect for selling baby, children and mom items! You can sell more than just clothes and accessories, but they do have to fit into those three main categories.

If you’re into trendy shops and small shop items, this is probably the best app for you! It’s also a great place to find those cute items that you might not otherwise afford.

You have the option to use their shipping labels and can print them out on your regular printer. Then, you just tape the label onto your shipping bag and drop it off in the USPS drive-thru. The process is so simple and easy!

Most people that I have bought from actually reuse and recycle old shipping bags from Amazon, etc. That means that you don’t even have to spend money on shipping materials and most people prefer that you use recycled packaging.

Mercari

Another app that I’ve loved using to buy and sell all kinds of items and clothes is Mercari. It’s easy to use and basically just a platform to sell any new or used yard sale type items.

I’ve sold clothes, jewelry, phone cases and more on Mercari. Similar to Kidizen, Mercari gives you the option to purchase and print one of their shipping labels at home.

*You can also use my Mercari referral link for a discount of $10 off your first order and an extra $20 reward when you make your first $100.

Facebook

Marketplace

You can pretty much buy and sell (almost) anything on Facebook Marketplace and the process is pretty easy. Fortunately, they added an option to ship from Marketplace last year, so you aren’t limited to just local buyers.

Just like the other apps, you have the option to purchase the labels directly through Facebook, print them out at home and drive by the post office to mail it.

Personally, I prefer shipping through Marketplace, rather than local meetup, pick-up or drop-off. It’s such a hassle to deal with others’ schedules sometimes, and then they’d no-show more often than not.

Another nice feature of Facebook Marketplace is the option to easily share your sale listing to multiple Facebook groups, too. That way, you don’t have to fill out all of the information more than once.

Private Groups

There are so many different Facebook groups for moms and for buying and selling. A lot of Facebook groups even sell specific brands only or small-shop only. Many stores even have their own Buy Sell Trade (BST) groups that you can join to resell your clothes to other loyal customers once your child grows out of them.

Most of these do payments through PayPal, and I’ve started to see a few offer payment through Facebook Messenger or Venmo. However, the latter two do not have buyer protection in case of a scammer or lost packages. I would be careful about paying via Messenger or Venmo.

These group offer many different types of ways to sell your items. You can do “deal or no deal,” where people offer you a price and you can accept if it’s high enough. You can do auctions in some.

When you join a group, just be sure to read through their rules and options. Most of them are pretty strict about making sure people sell and claim items the correct way.

Offer-Up

This one is pretty well-known, but I actually use it the least. Offer-Up is a great place to buy and sell any used item in general, not specifically baby and kids’ clothes. They also offer local pick-up, in addition to shipping, which is super nice for larger items with expensive shipping prices.

Several friends of mine have bought and sold larger baby items on Offer-Up, like cribs and strollers and have had good experiences. There definitely are a lot of listings for clothes and shoes too, though, so there is a market for it!

Once Upon a Child Stores

Once Upon a Child is a good in-person option to sell your used kids’ clothing. They carry all sizes from newborn to youth sizes, books, toys, accessories and gear.

These stores are available in most stores, just do a quick Google search to find your nearest store. Most require an appointment to drop off your items for them to look through.

Once they look through your items, they’ll make an offer on the items they would like to purchase from you to resell in their store. You can accept the offer in cash or receive slightly more money in store credit.

Have you found any other ways that you love to sell your baby and kids’ items easily? I’d love to hear your favorites and experiences with any of these!
